About Lil' Angels Attic

 

Our Mission:

• To invite the church and the community to volunteer in an activity that raises funds for children’s and family ministries.
• To develop church members by providing an opportunity for them to serve.
• To nurture a positive spiritual influence in volunteers and their children during the event.
• To provide an environment where buyers and sellers can meet to exchange high quality used children’s clothing & goods at affordable prices.

 

Our History:

     Lil' Angels Attic is directed by a committee of 30 moms who are active members of Broadway United Methodist Church.  A founding member of this group brought the vision for our sale from the Lil' Lambs Closet Sale in Lexington, Kentucky where she had enjoyed volunteering.  With guidance and help from our Lexington friends, the Lil' Angels Attic sale became a reality in the Spring of 2002.  Every committee member must be a member of Broadway UMC and often there is a waiting list to rotate onto this special group of women.  Each sale we prayerfully consider how we can best assist children and families with the resources we receive from these sales. 

     Lil' Angels Attic is open twice a year--the first weekend in March and the weekend after Labor Day each September-- so that parents may shop for seasonal items in excellent condition at fair prices.  Lil' Angels Attic contributed more than $40,500 in cash and $8,500 in merchandise in 2007 to the organizations we support.

     The model for this sale is special because the 30% that Lil' Angels Attic collects is distributed to many amazing organizations which support children & families.  We are entirely volunteer staffed, by 350+ amazing volunteers!  We accept items from our consignors on Wednesday and Thursday, have a Preview Sale for our volunteers & consignors Thursday night, and are open to the general public Friday from 9am-7pm and Saturday from 9am-Noon.  Lil' Angels Attic has become a community-wide event with support from local media and businesses, hundreds of consignors and volunteers, and thousands of shoppers!
